"We had a fantastic holiday at Ty r Pwll."
The gardens were stunning, the cottage a great combination of an ancient building with modern amenities, the hosts were very welcoming and left us to ourselves and the location was perfect for travel around the area. We couldn't have asked for more!

"We had a lovely stay here."
The cottage is quirky, quite remote and a little bit different from your average holiday let. The grounds are amazing and we enjoyed playing and exploring in them. The owners were friendly and helpful and the resident’s cats also deserve a special mention - we enjoyed seeing them around. Raglan Castle, Abergavenny, Big Pit and a walk up Skirrid Fawr are all recommended by us. Worth noting that access to the cottage is up a single-track road so not for the nervous driver! Beautiful views across to Raglan Castle on the way though. We found that we weren’t comfortable walking out from the property so went everywhere by car. Also, it’s not an easy place to pop out for food or get a takeaway. That said, we really enjoyed the change of pace and scenery and it’s done us the world of good!

"A lovely cottage in a beautiful location (with added cat value)."
The owners made us feel very welcome. The cottage was surprisingly spacious, even for the 6' tall member of the group. A well-stocked kitchen and comfortable living room. The beds were really comfortable, and we all slept exceptionally well - the family bedroom would be perfect for older children, with a 'hidden' space behind curtains. The location was also good - very peaceful and good for stargazing, and with Raglan, Abergavenny and Monmouth a short drive away. The approach road is single track with few passing places, so be prepared for that (although we only encountered 5 cars - and 1 tractor - all week).

"What a fantastic place to stay - so peaceful (all you can hear are the birds and insects, with the occasional owl at night!"
And so near to so many lovely castles and walks. The cottage was so cute and quirky, and there were a couple of outside seating areas to use in the garden area of the cottage. Alan was so helpful but also left you in peace. He very kindly allows guests to enjoy the rest of his garden, which is huge and full of interesting trees and shrubs. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with a good range of utensils, etc. A heavenly place I would definitely like to return to.
